Peruphasma schultei "pink"

Peruphasma schultei or black stick insect.

It is a small phasmid species, reaching around 4–5 cm, native to Peru.

Its diet consists of olive and privet.

Do not release any animal into the wild, whether native or not, as it may disrupt the balance of wild butterflies. There are other ways to help the environment—contact us for advice.

It is recommended to use gloves when handling, as it can spray significant amounts of organic acids that may cause irritation upon contact with mucous membranes.

Its enclosure, like any stick insect, should be three times the size of the animal’s length. It only reproduces if a male and female are present.

The optimal temperature is around 25 °C, with 75% humidity.
